Thanks to Martha's persistence, the obituary for Walter Hart (born as Jacob Braunhart) was found in a dusty old box at her cousin's house. Some interesting photos were found as well. Those will be posted soon.

World War Vet Dies After Illness
Funeral services for Walter Hart, aged 58 years, World War 1 veteran, and aviator who served with the American Forces Air Service Detachment in Germany, will be held from the Hirzel funeral home, Elmhurst this afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. James F. Kelly, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran church, officiating. Rev. G. Ashworth Burslem, chaplain of the Robert L. Taylor Post No. 13 American Legion will conduct the military services and members of the post, George L. Bright, Howard Holliday, David Money, Joseph Neel, Cortland Saxton and James A. Schecter will be pallbearers. A firing squad from Fort Du Pont will fire the final salute at the grave in the Delaware City cemetery.
The deceased was born in Berlin, Germany, and came to this country several years ago. He enlisted at Fort McDowell, Calif., Sept. 2, 1920. In civilian life after his honorable discharge from the Army, he was a tailor at Fort Du Pont.
Surviving are his wife, Ilsa M. Gass Hart; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph P. Cadden, and Margaret, living at home as well as one grandson. Three sisters, and a brother reside in Brooklyn, N.Y., as well as three other brothers and one sister, last known to be living in Germany.
The deceased died in the U.S. Naval hospital, Philadelphia, on Wednesday afternoon after an illness of three weeks. He was operated upon for appendicitis a week preceding his death, complications followed, causing his death.
